A Day in Noto, the Places We Love

Must-See & Must-Do during your stay at Masseria Costanza

Every stay at Masseria Costanza is an invitation to slow down. To embrace the quiet rhythm of the Sicilian countryside, reconnect with nature, and rediscover the luxury of unhurried time. Yet, just a short drive away lies one of the Mediterranean’s most captivating towns.

Noto is far more than the capital of Sicilian Baroque. It is a place where centuries-old palazzi coexist with contemporary concept stores, independent galleries, artisanal boutiques, and carefully curated spaces that reveal a creative, sophisticated, and ever-evolving side of Sicily.

There is no perfect way to experience Noto. The real pleasure lies in wandering without a plan.

Whenever we stroll along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, we always begin at Caffè Sicilia. An institution in the heart of the city, where tradition meets innovation and every pastry tells the story of Sicily through seasonal ingredients, fragrant citrus, almonds, and the craftsmanship of master pastry chef Corrado Assenza.

From there, we simply let curiosity lead the way.

One of our favourite stops is Sant’Agata Pozzilei, a beautifully curated space where fashion, design and creativity come together within a historic setting. Every collection feels thoughtfully selected, every object chosen for its timeless character.

Just a few steps away, Archivo Gallery & Boutique blends contemporary art, fashion, books and design into a space that feels more like a cultural destination than a boutique. It is one of those places where you always leave inspired.

Another address we never miss is A’Mare Noto, a refined concept store celebrating Mediterranean living through a carefully selected collection of clothing, accessories and home objects. It perfectly reflects the effortless elegance that defines this corner of Sicily.

Beyond these destinations, we love stepping into the town’s independent vintage stores and small art galleries. They are places filled with personality, where every piece has a story to tell and every discovery feels unexpected.

Whenever the scent of freshly baked bread fills the air, we know we are close to Forno Piano Alto. A simple yet unforgettable stop, where traditional baking, slow fermentation and exceptional local ingredients create flavours that feel deeply rooted in Sicilian culture.

As the afternoon light turns golden, we head to Terrazza Gagliardi. Overlooking the rooftops of Noto and its magnificent cathedral, it offers one of the town’s most breathtaking views. Watching the sun slowly illuminate the honey-coloured stone while enjoying a glass of Sicilian wine is a ritual we never tire of.

As evening settles in, I Crociferi is where we like to linger. Contemporary yet relaxed, it brings together creative cocktails, good music and an atmosphere that effortlessly blends locals and travellers.

Then, it’s time to return to Masseria Costanza.

The silence of the countryside welcomes you back. Ancient olive trees, the scent of Mediterranean herbs and the stillness of the Vendicari Nature Reserve gently replace the vibrant energy of the town.

To us, true luxury isn’t about seeing everything.

It’s about giving every place the time it deserves.

And Noto is one of those rare destinations that stays with you long after you’ve left—not through a checklist of landmarks, but through the places, the people and the moments that quietly become part of your journey.
